Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the Notice on Issues Concerning the Review and Reissuance of Standards for SIPO’s Administrative Charges (hereinafter the “Notice”), which provides a standard for patent-related fees and fees for the protection of the layout designs of integrated circuits. According to the Notice, the standards for patent-related fees collected by SIPO are subject to the provisions of the Standard for Patent Fees (Domestic Applications). The standard for fees related to PTC applications collected by SIPO will be subject to the Standard for PTC Application Fees. The standard for fees collected by SIPO for its search and examination services for patent applications filed in other countries and regions shall be subject to the corresponding treaty between China and the specific foreign country or region.
