Oliff PLC Visits W&B, Holds IPR Lecture
Since its establishment in 1995, W&B has been unremittingly expanding its domestic and foreign IPR services. Through the years, many foreign IP law firms and agencies have come to Watson & Band’s offices to participate in exchange seminars and discuss business cooperation. On March 2nd, 2016, partners Peter T. Ewald, Gang Luo and associate Ee Ming Yap from the U.S. law firm Oliff PLC visited W&B and conducted an IPR lecture. Over twenty IP agents and attorneys from various departments attended the lecture, which proceeded smoothly in a lively atmosphere. The lecture focused on two topics, namely, U.S. patent and trademark filing procedures and issues, and the U.S. Inter Partes Review Proceedings. These topics were explained in English by Ms. Yap and Mr. Ewald, respectively. In addition, Mr. Luo provided Chinese language explanations of certain issues.

The topics covered in this lecture accord very much with the content and needs of the IPR services provided by W&B. The attendees enjoyed in-depth communication and discussions with the three lecturers on issues such as trademark confusion, trademark cyber-squatting, official fees, attorney’s fees, trademark abuse, etc.

At the end of the lecture, W&B Managing Partner George Fu expressed gratitude to the three Oliff attorneys. Our two firms look forward to even more broad-based cooperation in the future. After the lecture, W&B team took photos and shared a lunch with the Oliff team.
