Watson & Band is pleased to announce that Edward Chalfie has joined us recently as the U.S.-based partner, overseeing client relations and case management in North America for Watson & Band.

Mr. Chalfie has more than 30 years of experience as intellectual property and litigation partner at large US law firms and is also a registered patent attorney. His specialties include the development of strategy tactics for IP enforcement, case management and budgeting. He has specialized experience representing international commercial and technology companies in counseling, prosecution and litigation of significant intellectual property matters, including persuading the United States Supreme Court that a product’s color can be registered as a trademark.

Mr. Chalfie graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology as Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science and Management and then from Loyola University of Chicago Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. At the same time, he pursued graduate studies in Intellectual Property Law in John Marshall School of Law. Also, he is a member of Intellectual Property Association of Chicago and color Trademarks Subcommittee of Non-Traditional Trademarks Committee of International Trademark Association. He was rated AV (Preeminent) in Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review.
