Recently at the 2021 Yangtze River Delta Intellectual Property press conference, Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Market Regulation published the “Top 10 IP Rights Protection Cases of Zhejiang Province in 2020”.

Said cases covered various types of IP rights and involved equal protection for domestic and overseas trademarks and patents across the province. Major industry sectors covered include We-Media platforms, high-tech, pharmaceutical and automobile parts; and key sections include e-commerce and overseas trading. These cases comprehensively displayed the prominent effects that Zhejiang Province had accomplished through its strengthened protection for IP rights and powerful enforcement actions against illegal conducts.

Among these cases, the trademark infringement and unfair competition case that Watson & Band’s Partner Joe Liu and his team represented for World Trade Center Association Inc. against the three defendants was listed at the eighth. After this case was selected by Zhejiang Higher People’s Court as a “Typical Case of Strengthened Protection for IP Rights in Zhejiang Courts in 2020” earlier in January this year, Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Market Regulation again recognized the positive role played by this case for strengthening IP rights protection.
