On December 12, 2018, ACPAA's  30^th Anniversary Conference was held at the Xi Yuan Hotel. W&B Senior Founding Partner Shenmin Xu was invited to the Conference.

At the Conference, ACPAA granted Certificates of Distinction to patent agents who had been engaging in the patent agency industry for more than 30 years, so as to praise their positive contributions toChina’s patent industry. Mr. Xu received the great honor.

Mr. Xu has been engaging in the patent agency industry for over 38 years and has represented clients in numerous domestic and foreign patent applications and acted on behalf of clients in hundreds of patent infringement lawsuits involving Chinese and foreign patents. He successfully represented the clients in the first patent infringement lawsuit inChinathat was filed by a Japanese company against a Chinese company, as well as the first patent infringement lawsuit inChinabetween two foreign companies.

Mr. Xu has published dozens of works and academic papers both home and abroad. In 2004 he published the book Patent Infringement Litigation Practices in China inJapan. Each year he delivers lectures on the P.R.C. Patent Law and the patent infringement litigation practices inChinafor members of the JIPA (Japan Intellectual Property Association) and employees of renowned Japanese companies. In September 2017, Mr. Xu published the book Patent Infringement Litigation Practices in China inChina.
