The Wutong Law Park-989 Workers’ Legal Services Station was recently launched at the Wutong SPACE in a joint effort among the Xuhui District General Union, the Hunan Street General Union and the Shanghai branch of Watson & Band Law Offices. Ms. Xu Yan, Deputy Chairperson of the Xuhui District General Union, and Ms. Guo Yanmei, Deputy Secretary of the Xuhui District Hunan Street Party Working Committee and Chairperson of the General Union, both attended the ceremony and unveiled the nameplate for the station.

Situated at Wutong SPACE White Collar Service Center on F3, The Center, 989 Changle Road in Shanghai, the Legal Services Station offers free legal services to all union members working for private enterprises. The Station runs under the mission statement “providing services to members, protecting their legal rights and promoting harmonious relations” to provide free and “zero-distance, face-to-face” legal assistance to union members in all business buildings in the area. Its purpose is to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of union members and to “help those who should be helped and optimize assistance to those who are being helped.”

After the ceremony, the first legal seminar at Wutong Law Park took place as scheduled. The speaker, Mr. Li Huaping, delivered a lecture entitled An Analysis of Difficult Problems in Enterprise Labor Employment Management and Dispute Resolution. Mr. Li used his rich experience to vividly describe these problems from a number of perspectives including law, judicial practice and enterprise operations. He also provided his interpretation of problems in enterprise labor employment management and dispute resolution strategies.

Wutong Law Park-989 Workers’ Legal Services Station offers legal consulting, legal seminars and legal assistance. Through the Wutong platform, W&B will provide professional legal consultation and services to all union members from private enterprises.
