Mr. Tang graduated from the East China University of Science and Technology in 2004 with a master’s degree in materials science. Upon graduation, he joined Watson & Band and engaged in patent agency services. He qualified as a patent agent in 2009. During his 16 years of practice, he has served as Director of Watson & Band’s Chemistry Department; he is now Deputy Manager of Watson & Band Intellectual Property Agent Ltd.
Mr. Tang has processed a great number of chemistry-related patent application cases, in which he provided professional opinions contained in observations to substantive examinations of invention patents involving high polymer materials, inorganic materials, organic chemicals and medicine. He succeeded in obtaining patent rights after submitting these observations to the patent office.
Mr Tang’s current duties involve conducting patentability analyses or patent invalidity analyses; issuing FTOs; representing clients in patent invalidation proceedings and attending related hearings; and filing administrative lawsuits on behalf of clients in opposition to invalidation or reexamination decisions. Mr. Tang also provides support and assistance in patent infringement analysis for Watson & Band solicitors involved in patent infringement lawsuits.
Mr. Tang enjoys the benefit of extensive experience in patent invalidity and patent infringement analysis, and he has won a number of patent invalidation cases for well-known domestic and foreign enterprise clients.
